Sex therapy

Sex therapy is the treatment of sexual dysfunction, such as, premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, low libido, non-consummation , sexual addiction, painful sex (Vagiismus), or a lack of sexual confidence commonly caused by stress, tiredness, and other environmental and relationship factors. Sex therapists assist those experiencing problems in  regaining an active sex life.

Psychosexual development.
Individual sexuality is based on four interrelated factors.

3. SEXUAL ORIENTATION – This is person’s sexual impulses:
i] Hetrosexual (opposite sex)
ii] Homosexual (Same sex) or
iii] Bisexual [ both sexes]
4. SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR – Normal males and females experience a sequence of physiological and psychological responses to sexual stimulation.
According to the fourth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual [DSM-IV] the sexual response cycle is divided into four phases.
Phase 1 : Desire

Phase 2 : Excitement
Phase 3 : Orgasm
Phase 4 : Resolution

Certified sex therapists have graduate degrees and can demonstrate their competence in sex therapy.Sex therapy is usually short term. The specific treatment plan depends on the issues to be addressed.
Certified sex therapists do not have sexual contact with clients, in the office or anywhere else.
